Delicatessen – A Little Taste from Home

entrance-delicatessen-shop If you’re like me, an expat away from home, you sometimes miss some of the little things you’re used to from your previous life. If one of those things is food, then Delicatessen is a place you really need to visit. Located in Travessera de Gràcia, Delicatessen is a very small, but nicely stocked up place with a lot of different flavours.

Let’s say you’re Japanese: you’ll be able to find a good selection of Japanese products here! Or maybe you’re from the North of Europe? You’ll still be able to find quite a wide range of products! My own personal favorite would be the American section -not that I am American, but their pancakes and chocolate chip cookies are simply fantastic.

There is also a good selection of wines and liquors from all over the world. You will be able to find several Portuguese wines from the Dao region for example, next to nice Italian and French wines. They also stock gin or sake, and you can even find Japanese whiskey if that tickles your fancy.

Finally, I’d like to mention that it’s not the cheapest place around, but then again, old habits never come cheap. At least it’s cheaper than El Corte Inglés, and has a different variety to choose from.
