What better Italian name for an Italian Pizzeria in Barcelona’s Raval than - Pizza Ravalo? This is one of the most outstanding places to eat a great pizza in the heart of Raval, both for its top-quality pizzas and for the fact that prices haven’t been pushed to touristic-rip-off limits -yet! But let’s start from the beginning.

Pizza Ravalo is a great pizza restaurant in the city centre of Barcelona. They do other Italian dishes, but from the à-la-carte menu you can pretty much see that that’s their strong point. Starters are just a few salad choices, so we would advise you to stick to ordering what they really specialise in. There is also a daily menu, which for €9.50 serves a starter, main course (complete with a choice of fish), dessert and drinks. Pizzas range from €8.50-€14.00 (8% VAT excluded).

The restaurant is quite atypical in the sense that the two dining-rooms are completely separate: they have different entrances from the street and are not communicated. One area is smoking, the other non-smoking. Both have a fantastic blend of stone walls, which give the customer an immediate cozy reception. This, together with a warm service, creates a homey and relaxed atmosphere.

To highlight are their pizzas: Fiorentina and Barbeque are amongst our favourites. They have a thin crust and plenty but not excessive topping. Be prepared for a large plate being served!

A late addition to the restaurant is their Bar Invisible, which uses the terrace in front of the square (Plaça d’Emili Vendrell) to serve its customers their cocktails of the week -mojito and caipirinha, for instance, at a regular price of €5. The terrace makes it a fantastic spot for summer evenings, perfect to cool down and combat the heat of the city with a few icy drinks.

In short, Pizza Ravalo is a great pizzeria in the centre of Barcelona’s Raval, worth making the effort to locate when you want a good, down-to-earth delightful pizza. We wish we could provide you with a few pictures of their pizzas, but somehow the sight of them at the table makes us forget all about picture-taking -every time!
