Murivecchi – New Restaurant with Old Walls

restaurant murivecchi in barcelona

Murivecchi is a great Italian restaurant right in the middle of El Born, in the central c/ Princesa. The atmosphere is quite good, nice array of dining room tables, good set up and very pleasant lighting. In terms of food, the pizzas are their strongest point, traditional style (they are cooked in a wood-fired oven), with a good selection and extremely well-priced, especially if we take into account the location of the restaurant.

At arrival the guests are offered a complimentary glass of cava, which is a nice touch while you wait for your order to be taken. The speed of serving is good, without too much wait in between dishes. In terms of wine list, in my opinion they are slightly overpriced (starting from €15 a bottle), but at least there are 4-5 options per region, with a separate choice of Spanish and Italian wines -handy if like me your knowledge of Italian wines is very limited.

In short, I really recommend this restaurant; its central location, good service and good value pizzas (priced at an average of €10) make it a great option for grabbing dinner while you enjoy a night in the town.
